| The Wonder Stuff
In 1993, the Wonder Stuff released a set of extended play (EP) recordings on CD, tape and vinyl that used science-based school images from the 1960s and 1970s for their covers.
The Kettering Group appeared on two of them - "Full of Life (Happy Now)" and its remix version where a colour negative of the original cover was used. Geoff Perry later appeared in isolation on the cover of a re-release of some of the material in 2000.
The Wonder Stuff may actually have a connection with Kettering but I don't know what it is. Maybe one of its members is a native of the town.
A copy of a cutting from The Times, containing a version of the photo from which the Wonder Stuff image was taken, is below.
The Times - original
In the original picture, from the turn of 1966-1967, are Phil Gregory, Richard Jahn, Bob Christy, Mike Sinnett, Geoff Perry, Derek Slater and Graham Coleman. Unfortunately, Phil and Richard were cut-off in order to produce the square-shaped CD cover.
The Marconi CR-100 and BC-221 appear in it too, but not in their usual location. They were moved in order to compose the subject better.
